BULGARIAN SCIENTIST AWARDED THE HUMBOLDT PRIZE

Professor Ivan Gutsov who works in the filed of physics and chemistry of glass was awarded the international Humboldt prize. The famous scientist was given the prize for the new method on synthesis of quartz and diamond that he created. This type of synthesis is possible but it is more expensive that the natural one, the scientist explained. The Alexander von Humboldt prize is administered by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, a nonprofit organization established by the Federal Republic of Germany to promote international research cooperation.
