CIGARETTES EXCISE DUTY GOES UP

Parliament adopted the amendments to the Excise Duty Act at second reading on December 12. Under the amendments exported goods are to be with excise duty stamp. The requirement will not be valid for transit goods. The excise duty on coffee will be calculated per kilogram, and not as percentage of the price. The excise duty for one kilogram of baked coffee will be BGN 1,30, and BGN 1 of raw coffee. The excise duty on cigarettes with filter goes up from 30% to 40% of the price, and from 10 to 15 % of the price for those without filter. The excise duty on gas will be per ton, while the excise duty on gambling – per gambling place.
