British Prime Minister Tony Blair sent a letter to incumbent Bulgarian President Stoyanov on the occasion of his mandate’s enf. On November 11th, the Bulgarian people elected Socialist leader Parvanov to be the new Bulgarian President. He will be inaugurated on January 22. “ I highly estimate your strong and in principle leadership,” Blair writes to Stoyanov. The British Prime Minister points out that during Stoyanov’s mandate, the bilateral relations between Bulgaria and the United Kingdom have strengthened. He concludes the letter with a call for further communication between the two officials after Stoyanov’s mandate ends. Blair also sent a letter to President-elect Parvanov congratulating him on his election victory and expressing the hope that he will continue his predecessor's policy.
