Bulgaria's Euro-Affairs Minister Meglena Kuneva was a special guest at the Russe presentation of Bulgarian culture hymn in 22 different languages.

The "March ahead, o revived people!" is dedicated to the deed of Bulgarian enlighteners Sts Cyril and Methodius.

The presentation took place at the "Hristo Botev" high school where back in 1892 Bulgarian poet Stoyan Mikhaylovski wrote the authentic text of the highly worshipped hymn. Nine years later prominent composer of Bulgaria came across the poem in a textbook of one of his students and was inspired to write down its music. It was May 9, 1901.

The culture anthem has been translated into 21 EU languages, plus Romanian, and published for circulation in all Member countries of the Union.

Bulgaria uses Cyrillic letters and once a member of the EU, its language - which has a history of nearly thousand years - will be recognised as one of the official languages of the community.
