THE NEGOTIATIONS WITH IMF ENTER THEIR DECISIVE STAGE

The negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are entering their decisive phase. Today the mission will meet the team of Finance Minister Milen Velchev to specify the texts of the agreement with the government. Tomorrow Jerald Schiff will discuss the final version of the memorandum with some of the ministers. The structural reforms within the State Railways Company, the energy sector, health care and education, as well as the future steps of the government concerning the managing of the foreign debt will be discussed. “The IMF is against pouring budget money into the State Railways Company and the steam-heating plants,” Deputy Finance Minister Kiril Ananiev said.
