The progress of the accession talks on various chapters of the acquis communautaire will be discussed at a meeting of foreign ministers of the European Union and Bulgaria on December 11 in Brussels within the framework of the intergovernmental commission on accession. The Financial Control chapter is expected to be closed at the December 11 meeting. The Bulgarian delegation will be headed by Foreign Minister Passy. This will be the fifth meeting of this kind since the accession negotiations opened in February 2000, and the last one under Belgium's Presidency. During the Belgian term, Bulgaria succeeded to close provisionally the chapters concerning the free movement of capital, the free provision of services, and telecommunications.
