General Joseph Ralston, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, accepted Foreign Minister Passy's invitation to visit Bulgaria. The invitation was made during Passy’s meeting with General Ralston in Brussels on December 7. All details of the visit will be discussed at another meeting the two will have in the Belgian capital next week. According to Ralston Bulgaria gave a good example to all allies in the anti-terrorist coalition in allowing the Black Sea city of Burgas base to be used for the Enduring Freedom operation. He gave a high assessment of Bulgaria's role in the Balkans and the preservation of peace in Macedonia. The settlement of the Macedonian crises was the topic of discussion of the Bulgarian foreign minister and his Macedonian counterpart Slobodan Casule. Passy and Casule reached an agreement to speed up the work on Transport Corridor eight and the project for a railway connecting the two countries.
