The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission arrived on December 4 for the successive round of the negotiations with the Bulgarian government. Jerald Schiff, head of the International Monetary Fund mission to Bulgaria, said that he is optimist for signing an agreement with the Bulgarian Government. The Government is to decide whether it should be a protective agreement or one for financing, Schiff explained. The agreement is expected to be for a year or a little bit more, Schiff said. "We are to reach an agreement on the memorandum in the economic policy, which will describe in details what will be done next year. The Fund and the government are to negotiate concrete figures," Schiff added. Schiff assessed the Bulgarian Eurobond issue as successful. The IMF mission will stay in Bulgaria for ten days.
