Bulgarian Troops in Iraq Likely to Change Functions

Politics | February 16, 2005, Wednesday // 00:00

It is likely a part of Bulgarian troops in Iraq to be relocated to a NATO operation for training new Iraqi security forces, the Chief of Army Staff General Kolev said Wednesday.

It is, however, early for debates over the Bulgarian presence in Iraq, according to General Kolev. It is necessary to wait till the post-election situation is well analyzed, he explained.

The debate could only start in March, when the analyses, made by the General Staff and other structures, will be ready.
