THE ECONOMIST: FRANCE FEARS ENLARGEMENT

France fears enlargement, The Economist magazine commented, quoted by Radio Free Europe. According to the magazine the real goal is to stop the realization of the idea for faster accession of Bulgaria and Romania. France aims to create obstacles in the accession process. This was proved by the way the French daily Le Monde attacked the French proposal. France will lose its influence in case of Eastward expansion, when Germany will become a natural centre. The fact that most of the SE countries politics is influenced by the US also threatens the French influence, The Economist analyses.

The Bulgarian reactions to the French proposal for accession of the “second wave” countries are difficult to be realized, radio Free Europe commented.
