FAMOUS SCULPTOR AND COUNCILOR RELEASED AFTER THREE NIGHTS UNDER ARREST

Sofia councilors Vezhdi Rashidov and Emil Dodov, who were arrested on November 30 after a fight with a policeman, were released on December 3 on bail after paying BGN 500. An investigation into the incident will start. Stoyan Ganev, Director of the Prime Minister's Cabinet and Nikola Filchev, Chief Prosecutor met to discuss the issue. To a quastion whether that meeting will influence the investigation, Ganev did not respond. Following the fight with policeman Ventsislav Pavlov the two officials were accused of hooliganism. Vezhdi Rashidov is a famous Bulgarian sculptor. On December 2 well-known intellectuals protested before the Presidency against the arrest of the famous sculptor Vezhdi Rashidov. According to them his arrest has been set up.
