IMF MISSION ARRIVES TO CONTINUE NEGOTIATIONS THIS WEEK

The International Monetary Fund mission arrives on December 5 to further the negotiations on the three-year agreement with Bulgaria. Jerald Schiff, head of the International Monetary Fund mission will be in Bulgaria just when the most heated discussions on the new tax laws and budget 2002 will take place in Parliament. Bulgaria can rely on USD 100 M – USD 200 M financial support from IMF. One of the unconditional conditions of the IMF is VAT on tourist services to be introduced. The IMF mission will stay in Bulgaria for ten days.
