A movie based on a story by Bulgaria-born Adriana Davidova has pinned the attention of Spanish critics with its premiere in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and other cities of the country.

"Syndrome" is the first feature film of young Spanish director Liberto Rabal, who is Davidova's husband.

The movie was shot with a digital camera, on an extremely low budget, but has already participated several prestigious festivals and has been sold to The Netherlands, Belgium, France, the US, India, Italy, South Korea and Singapore.

Adriana Davidova is playing the main role in the film, and there is another Bulgarian sign in this Spanish movie - the art director is Eva Davidova.

"Syndrome" deals with hot topics of the consumer society: drugs, impossible love, passions becoming untenable, and a profound cry for salvation.

Many of the critics point out that the achievements of "Syndrome" open new horizons in the development of the European filmmaking. They underline the great skill and courage of the director and the excellent performance of the actors.

Liberto Rabal is the grandson of legendary Francisco Rabal, who is the only Spanish actor to have been given a Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of his native Murcia. He has also received top movie awards in Spain, Cannes, Montreal, etc..
