PARLIAMENT VOTED AT FIRST READING STATE ASSISTANCE BILL

Parliament adopted at first reading the State Assistance Bill. The bill is related to the Bulgarian accession agreement with EU and in particular with the EU negotiations on the Competition Policy chapter. In accordance with the European Union law, the bill prohibits granting state assistance in case that it violates the principle of free competition. According to the rule, regulated by the European Commission also, the assistance for a single enterprise which is under BGN 200,000 granted for a period of three years will not be subject to the general ban on state assistance grant.
