The term for granting subsidies to milk producers was prolonged till December 14, 2001. Documents are to be submitted till December 7. This was announced by Mehmed Dikme, Agriculture Minister, while presenting the report on the Ministry’s one hundred days. Milk producers receive subsidies through the association they are members of. Following the disorder in documentation caused by the separation of the National Association and the formation of the Independent Association of Dairy Producers many dairy producers are left without state subsidies. Dairy producers are to receive the subsidies through district directorates with “Zemedelie” fund. A total of BGN 19 M more are to be earmarked from the budget for "Zemedelie" fund. Minister Dikme pointed out the lack of new markets for Bulgarian agriculture products as the main problem the Cabinet failed to solve.
