RESEARCH PREDICTS 2001 NEGATIVE TRADE BALANCE TO REACH USD 1,9 B

Negative trade balance for 2001 will reach USD 1.9 B a report, presented by Stefan Uzunov, an expert of the Export Encouragement Center, envisages. The expected export, transport expenditures and insurances excluded, will reach USD 5 B, and the import with the same expenditures – USD 6.9 B. The greatest burden of foreign trade deficit is the trade with Russia, where import exceeds export by USD 1 B every year, Uzunov said. Deputy Minister of Economy Lyubka Kachakova announced that the Commercial Institute and the Export Encouragement Centre will be merged in one institution to be called Agency for Trade Encouragement.
