MOST OF THE FUNDS FOR SECOND DANUBE BRIDGE PROVIDED

The Bulgarian-Romanian joint committee in charge of all issues related to the design, financing and construction of the second bridge across the Danube said that the European Investment Bank has allocated EUR 70 M to the project, and the French Development Agency -EUR 500,000 for the planning stage and EUR 5 M for the construction. The German credit institution KFW has allocated EUR 470,000 for the design, EUR 220,000 for construction and has agreed to extend a EUR 15 M loan. The European Union will donate EUR 5 M for the design and EUR 50 M for the construction within the framework of a special program. The joint-committee has approved a project to construct two electrifies railway tracks and two double-lane roadways along the bridge, Pari daily wrote.
