EU TO INSPECT BULGARIAN DAIRY, MEAT PRODUCERS

European Union veterinarians will check the working conditions in Bulgarian farms and meat processing facilities in December, Yanko Ivanov, head of the National Veterinary Service said. The initiative is part of the Balkan countries preparation for EU entry. Good results from the inspection may lead to an increase in the exports of meat, dairy and livestock to the EU. The results will also be crucial for deciding whether Bulgaria will open the veterinary and hygiene supervision part of the Agriculture chapter in its negotiations for EU accession.
