The Israeli businessman Lev Levaev gave up the deal with the Bulgarian GSM operator MobilTel, Israel's daily newspaper Globes wrote. Levavev did not manage to convince Nochi Dankner to participate in the deal, the publication in Globes reads. Dankner is founder and chairman of Ganden Group. The article continues that bank Hapoalim refused to finance Levaev with USD 650 M, which is necessary for the purchase of the Levaev’s share of the mobile operator. The daily comments that the bank denied the credit because it was too big and because possible conflicts with Nochi Dankner, major shareholder in the bank, might arise. The Dutch company “L.L Telecom Holding” continues to be owner of MobilTel. According to information made public in 2000, Levaev owns 50% of the mobile operator.
