The Higher Prosecutor’s Office will issue an indictment against former minister Alexander Bozhkov, former deputy prime minister, it emerged after a statement of the Deputy Chief Prosecutor Hristo Manchev. Most probably, Bozhkov is to be sued for violations in the privatization of the optical factory in the village of Tsalapitsa. Plovdiv prosecutors claim that the price of the factory was 35 times lower that it should have been. Bozhkov commented that he learnt about the indictment from the media. “ I know that I am not guilty. I even do not know where and what this factory is like and that is why it is extremely difficult for me to have participated in its illegal privatization,” Bozhkov explained. He added that his lawyer has told him that the price was not 35 times lower but 3 times lower.
