Celebrated Bulgarian history novelist Anton Donchev was awarded Wednesday with the prestigious annual prize "St Kliment Ohridski" of the Sofia University.
The several-time Nobel literature prize nominated writer has gained popularity home and abroad with numerous historical novels, including Time of Violence, Privalov's Millions, From the Other Side of the Mirror, Return From Rome, Burn to Be a Light, The Pack of Wolves, Kaloyan, the Legends of Samuil, etc.
These awards are an honour for me, but still a great responsibility that urges to continue retelling our past, Academician Anton Donchev told journalists in the Aula hall of the University.
The cavaliers of Sofia University's prize from previous years include Yordan Radichkov, Vera Mutafchieva, Ivaylo Petrov, Boris Hristov.
