The Macedonian Prime Minister Ljubco Georgievski had a meeting with an official delegation of Sofia Municipality, led by Mayor Stefan Sofianski. At the meeting, Georgievski called on his Bulgarian counterpart Saxe-Coburg to intensify the bilateral relations. The possibility for implementation of the Sofia-Skopje rail link project, for which both countries are ready in design and engineering terms, was discussed. Georgievski briefed Sofianski on the political and economic situation in Macedonia and on his intentions to form a new government, which will continue the implementation of the peace plan for Macedonia. The Prime Minister stressed his active commitment to the development of infrastructure projects and improvement of the thoroughfares to the border crossings. Georgievski stressed his readiness to engage directly in the drafting of a political declaration that would seek funding for infrastructure projects of mutual interest immediately after the new Macedonian government formation.
