The multi- and one-year agreements between BG and the EU Commission on the provision of direct financial assistance under the SAPARD Program entered into force April 20, the Agriculture Ministry reported. A verbal note to this effect was received from the Secretariat General of the EU Commission by the BG Embassy in Brussels. The provision of assistance means that BG has met all requirements of the EU Commission and meets the conditions to be a beneficiary under the Special Accession Program for Agriculture and Rural Development. BG agriculture will receive EUR 53,026 a year until 2007, the Ministry informed.
