SIMEON II NATIONAL MOVEMENT TO BECOME PARTY ON DEC.1

Politics | November 23, 2001, Friday // 00:00

The Simeon II National Movement (SIINM) will be registered as a party on December 1, 2001. According to Stanimir Ilchev, MP of the SIINM this is to be a party of the electoral type. Its members - no more than 1000 - are to include MPs, Ministers from the Movement, political cabinates and members nominated by the coalition in the parliamentary elections in June who were not elected members of Parliament. Opinions diverge among party members on the issue of forming a new party now, Inchev said. Those who support it cite the current lack of vertical communication between the different regions. Those against it claim that the movement now must focus on analyzing the presidential elections results. A working seminar of the Parliamentary group of the Simeon II National Movement under the motto “SIINM – future political activities” starts on November 24. Prime Minister and leader of the movement Simeon Saxe-Coburg and ministries will take part in the seminar.
