Marin Marinov, former Minister of Industry and Eurointegration advisor to the former Prime Minister Ivan Kostov, is to be brought before the court, charged with violating the liquidation procedure of Stock Holding Company “Electronica”- Petrich, Trud Daily reported. The damages to the State Treasury caused by Marin Marinov are said to amount to BGN 38 900. Under the Bulgarian law the offender can be sentenced to up to ten years in prison and no longer be able to be appointed to executive positions. An allegation of not exerting enough control over Tane Penev, liquidator of the Petrich Company, has been brought against the former deputy minister. The liquidator Tane Penev was in charge of the company’s management and its property. He is also to be sued. Legal proceedings against Marin Marinov were brought for the first time in August 2000, after a check-up of Bulgarian Chief Prosecutor Nikola Filchev. Marin Marinov denied all allegations against him and refused to make any comment.
