The delegates at the UDF national conference in Sofia adopted the election program of the United Democratic Forces (UtDF), a coalition of UDF, the Popular Union, the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party and the National Movement for Rights and Freedoms. The UtDF sets the goals of completing successfully the accession talks with the EU by 2004, achieving the best possible results for BG from the 2002 NATO summit in Prague and realizing the strategic foreign policy priority for accession to NATO. The UtDF further projects a real annual economic growth of no less than 5%, a budget deficit of 2%, a base interest rate of 4-5%, a foreign reserve of over $3,000 M and reparation of a scheme for the issue of sovereign bonds on the international capital markets.
