Politics | November 20, 2001, Tuesday // 00:00
“Coalition for Bulgaria" will vote against budget bill 2002 at first reading,” Emiliya Maslarova, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Group (PG) of the Coalition, announced after the PG meeting on November 20. According to the MPs of "Coalition for Bulgaria" the budget bill 2002 is restrictive and favors fiscal policy rather than economic growth. They claim that the budget will leave 80% of all Bulgarians on the level of “stabilized poverty”. Maslarova pointed out that between the first and second reading of the budget the PG of "Coalition for Bulgaria" will do its best to smooth out all weaknesses. President -elect Parvanov several times pointed out that the socialist party does not approve of the budget bill 2002. The Coalition candidatures for the Council for Electronic Media have not been discussed at the meeting.
