The 500g solid gold mask that was unearthed in Bulgaria in August was exhibited for the first time in Sofia Thursday.
The National Museum of Archaeology will show the precious finding to the public until September 22.
The mask is 2,500-year-old, and is believed to depict the face of an ancient Thracian king, Seutus III. The place where the gold item was discovered is probably the king's gravesite.
The archeologist who made the sensational discovery came upon a whole new Thracian treasure. A golden ring, ornate silver, bronze and ceramic pieces were also found at the same place.
