“Bulgaria’s immediate objective is to receive an invitation for NATO joining at the summit in Prague. This invitation is necessary to guarantee the democratic processes in the country,” Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg said in his address to the Council on Foreign Relations on November 16 in New York. “The country's entry in the Alliance will reinforce security in the entire region, as it will enhance the existing potential of handling crises in the Western Balkans,” he added. “Bulgaria is a reliable partner to the United States in the strategically important Balkan region,” Saxe-Coburg underscored. The Bulgarian Prime Minister talked on the economic situation in Bulgaria and the foreign policy of the government. Saxe-Coburg briefed the attendees on the immediate economic goals of his government: to provide conditions for free entrepreuneurship and to radically reduce unemployment. In conclusion, the Prime Minister talked about the successful model of ethnic tolerance in Bulgaria and said that his government will strive to further develop this model.
