Bulgaria's head of state Georgi Parvanov opened the 20th edition of the country's biggest art festival Apolonia.

Apolonia 2004 will go on till September 11. The opening ceremony in the coastal city of Sozopol started with the special performance "Terra Apollonia".

Apolonia's guests will be able to enjoy classical music performed both by Bulgarian and foreign musicians. Some of the newest books on Bulgaria's book market will also be presented to Apolonia's visitors.

Art lovers will also see different theatre performances and art exhibitions.

Famous Bulgarian musicians like Familia Tonica and Rushi Vidinliev along with the performers from the "Legend" spectacle and the "Hair" will thrill the guest.

Dutch and American jazz bands will also be among the performers at Apolonia 2004.
