The solid gold mask that was unearthed in Bulgaria a few days ago may cost as much as 50 million euros, according to National History Museum Director Bozhidar Dimitrov.

The archeologist who made the sensational discovery came upon a whole new Thracian treasure. A golden ring, ornate silver, bronze and ceramic pieces were also found at the same place.

The mask itself is 2,500-year-old, and is believed to depict the face of an ancient Thracian king, Seutus III. The place where the gold item was discovered is probably the king's gravesite.

Experts are still working there, hoping to find the bones.
