FINANCE MINISTRY TO CHECK FUEL RESALE CHAIN

“The Finance Ministry will conduct a check-up of filling stations in Bulgaria, “ Atanas Katsarchev, Deputy Finance Minister, announced on November 15, 2001. Among the first companies to be checked are oil-refinery LUKoil –Neftochim, petrol retailer Petrol Naftex and filling stations in the free trade zone. According to experts the checks were prompted by the discrepancy in the amounts of sold and imported fuel. Nearly half of the imported fuel in Bulgaria is lost before it reaches the filling stations.
