Novinite.com photographer Kameliya Atanasova arrived back home after climbing Turkey's Mount Ararat (5137), a snow-capped volcanic cone near the borders with Iran, Iraq and Armenia. Ararat is the highest peak in modern Turkey.

Kameliya took part in a joint expedition of Bulgarian and Turkish climbers.

The first two groups that topped Turkey's highest peak included Bulgarians Dimitar Dimitrov, Ivan Savev, Vladimir Boiadjiev (Sofia University), Filip Zhazmati (National Sports Academy) and Zapryan Horozov (Mountain Rescue Service).

The young adventurers had to build two camps on their way to the top, and hire mules from local Kurdish people.
