Bulgaria's top shooter Tanyu Kiryakov was ranked fourth at the men's 10m air pistol final at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

Chinese Yifu Wang swept the gold medal with a total of 690.0 points. The silver medal went to Russian Mikhail Nestruev, who reached 689.8 points

Another Russian Vladimir Isakov won the bronze medal after he faced strong rivalry from the Bulgarian shooter.

Later in the day Kiryakov said that he was pleased with the fourth place, underlining it was no disappointment at all.
