Mrs Bulgaria Rumyana Marinova was crowned Mrs Globe 2004 at a special ceremony that took place in California.

The 28-year old Bulgarian won the approve of the 10-member jury with her appeal for the release of the five Bulgarian nurses sentenced to death in Libya.

Rumyana, who is a mother of a 3-year-old girl, will receive USD 1 M part of which will be donated to charity organizations.

The contest is a unique beauty pageant for married ladies.

The first Bulgarian lady to be elected Mrs Bulgaria was MP Yuliana Doncheva who swept the crown in 2001. Diana Andreeva, a 30-year-old mother of two kids was the next winner.
