DEPUTY PM:BG WANTS TO ENCOURAGE ISRAELI INVESTMENT

"Bulgaria is looking to attract Israeli investors," Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Nikolay Vassilev said in Qatar, Doha, quoted by the Internet edition of "The Jerusalem Post." Vassilev, who heads the Bulgarian delegation to the Fourth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization in Doha, met Israeli Regional Cooperation Minsiter Roni Milo and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Eli Ben-Menahem. Ben-Menahem told the Bulgarian Minister that the free-trade agreement between the two countries will be ratified, effective January 1, 2002. Israel and Bulgaria have also signed an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation. The two agreements are expected to lead to an increase in bilateral trade.
