Sofia has enjoyed the unique opportunity to see the photo exhibition "My France" by Andre Kertecz.
Born in Budapest, the US-naturalized photographer has succeeded to blend the modernist view of post-war United States with the European modernist sensibility and the art of photography.
Moving to Paris, Kertecz grabbed the opportunity to participate in the bohemian artist's life working as a freelance photographer for dozens of European magazines. Within a short time he met and made portraits of some of the great artists living in Paris, including Piet Mondrian, Marc Chagall, Alexander Calder, Constantin Brancusi, Sergei Eisenstein, and Tristan Tzara.
The unique photo exhibition, accommodated at the National Arts Gallery, is organized jointly by the French and Hungarian cultural institutes in Sofia.
