BULGARIA CONFIRMED ANTI TERRORISM SUPPORT

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy condemned the September 11 terrorist acts in the US and expressed full support for the Council's contribution to the fight against terrorism in his address to the 109th Session of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers. The meeting took place in Strasbourg on November 8. Passy reiterated Bulgaria's readiness to act as a de facto ally of the US and NATO in the fight against all forms of terrorism. Passy added that Bulgaria is to remain a stability factor in the Balkans. In his statement, the Foreign Minister said that Bulgaria welcomes the Convention on Cybercrime, adopted by the Committee of Ministers during the 109th session. He expressed hope that Bulgaria will be among the first signatories of the convention.
