However, he refused to comment on the possible measures that the United Democratic leadership must adopt to restore the party's authority and prestige. “I think that there are enough wise and authoritative people in the UDF leadership who can cope with this situation,” Stoyanov said. Sofianski denied information that he will attract members of the UDF in the new party. He said that he will talk with officials from Gergiovden and the trade unions Podkrepa and the Confederation of the Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria. He added that he does not exclude the Simeon II National Movement from the talks to be conducted. “I want to create a European-type party, which will be exceptionally dynamic and will have a clear presence both in the opposition and in government. This party will demonstrate its character both through its work and its position, and will intensify its activity prior to every election. I will tell you immediately, that the first goal of the organization we are creating is the local elections. I do not mean the local elections in two years, but the local elections in a few months,” Sofianski said in the air of the Bulgarian National radio. Sofianski also stated that he will aim to attract all free, thinking in line with the democratic values. As one of his basic reasons for this decision Sofianski pointed out the insurmountable differences he has with the UDF leaders.
