Bulgaria will launch an international kid's assembly, designed to send a message for peace and prosperity to the world.

The young participants are set for creating the world's largest painting carrying a peace message. Organizers will send the unique work to the Olympic Museum in Switzerland.

The spectacular opening of the event will be on June 12, when 1,000 balloons will be let out flying over Sofia. Each will carry a kid's written wish for harmony.

The Peace Flag movement is dated back to 1979. It was founded by Lyudmila Zhivkova, the daughter of former communist leader Todor Zhivkov. While he headed the state for 35 years, Lyudmila kept aside from politics but made history with the international children's forum.

Now Lyudmila's daughter Evgenia Zhivkova, a leftist MP and popular fashion designer, keeps up with Flag for Peace. The event is co-organized with the Atlantic Club in Sofia, and is supported by first lady Zorka Parvanova and Kathy Pardew, the wife of US Ambassador James Pardew.
