Bulgaria Awaits Toga Epics Shooting

The epic story of ancient Rome will revive on movie screen, with part of the shooting to be held in Bulgaria.

The battle scenes between Roman legions and barbarians will "take place" in the outskirts of the Rudarzi village, some 10 km away from Sofia.

The international team, whose Bulgarian work is coordinated by Harry Potter's selector, director Victor Bozhinov, is expected to arrive at some time in June.

The first two episodes are already finished under the precise view of British director Michael Apted (The World Is Not Enough).

The old-time epic feel has hit the modern city of Rome with the return of swords and sandals, and ancient Roman commoners striding under a triumphal arch in the USD 300 M budgeted TV series.
