Art lovers gathered at the opening of the exhibition of the legendary Juan Miro in Sofia.

Miro's works are presented in Sofia as part of this year's Arts Salon. It is dedicated to cultural influences between the East and West.

The exhibition closing June 20 is a part of the special events program organized by Spanish Embassy in Sofia.

The Spanish painter Juan Miro, who was born in Barcelona in 1893 and died in Palma de Mallorca in 1983, left behind an important legacy which is included amongst the most original of the 20th century.

Experts say his work is marked with a clear surrealist tendency, where the realm of memory and imaginative fantasy take priority.
