Unique Flora Discovery in Bulgarian Lake

Scientists have discovered a lily-species plant so far unknown to Bulgarian botanists.

According to preliminary reports, the unique plant discovered in a lake near the village of Malak Preslavets, northeast Bulgaria, pertains to the Nymphaea type of water lilies.

The local botanists are working under a PHARE ecology project for research of land, water, flora and fauna in the northeastern part of Bulgaria. The local bio-zone is famous as "The kingdom of water lilies."
