The Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon Passy is at an official visit in Slovenia. The prospects for cooperation between Bulgaria and Slovenia in the process of their integration into the European Union and NATO and security problems in Southeastern Europe are being discussed. Passy met Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor and is to have official meetings with President Milan Kucan, with his counterpart Dimitrij Rupel and other cabinet members. Four intergovernmental agreements were signed during the visit. Under the agreement on the removal of visas each country’s residents will be allowed to stay in the other country without visas up to 90 days within 6 months. The second agreement is on cooperation in the fight against organized crime, the illegal traffic of narcotic and psychotropic substances and precursors, terrorism and other major crimes. A joint committee of representatives of the two countries will be set up in charge of the implementation of this agreement. An agreement on cooperation in inter-modal transport and a programme on cooperation in science, education and culture between the two countries' ministries in 2000 – 2004 were also signed.
