NEW BLAGOEVGRAD BT CEO APPOINTED

The Board of Bulgartabac Holding appointed Hristo Lachev as the new executive director of its most profitable subsidiary, the Blagoevgrad BT AD tobacco factory. Lachev was selected among 16 applicants. His background and experience fully meets the requirements for the job, Ljubka Kachakova, chairwoman of the Board and Deputy minister of economy said. Lachev was also the applicant, selected by the extraordinary shareholders meeting of the Holding held on October 9. The other candidate, Yordan Yaramov, backed by board member Georgi Kostov who is alleged to have influenced the position of economy minister Vassilev, had less experience in the tobacco business, compared to the 10-year practice of his contender Christo Lachev. Valeri Karaivanov was the third applicant, and his name was relatively unknown in the tobacco business.
