The Vatican denied to confirm the information that Pope John Paul II is to pay a visit to Bulgaria next year, Standart wrote. For now, there is no official stand, a spokesman of the Holy See said for DPA. The statement was follow up of the Bulgaria's Foreign Minister’s Solomon Passy's words that the head of the Latin Catholic Church will visit Bulgaria in late May next year. Passy claims that a confirmation had been received in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Nuncio in Sofia. Last Thursday, Passy stated the Pope's visit will mend the reputation of Bulgaria marred after the attempt on Pope's life in Rome.
