“The recently-approved by the Government bills on the Audit Office, the state aids and the aliens are very important for Bulgaria's European integration,” Bulgaria's chief negotiator with the EU Meglena Kouneva told journalists. She added that these bills are harmonized with the European standards and meet the requirements of European and domestic legislation. Kouneva voiced hope that 17 acts which are particularly important for Euro-integration will be passed by the end of the year. “Bulgaria should stand independently in the process of accession of the applicant countries in the context of the Gothenburg declaration on individual assessment of each applicant,” said Kouneva asked by journalists to make a comparison between Bulgaria and the other EU applicants.
