An exhibition of the life and works of the internationally renowned Irish author James Joyce will be held from April 21 - May 7 at the National Library in Sofia.
The "International Joyce" exhibition will travel to approximately 40 cities around the world in the coming months to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Bloomsday, the day in 1904 on which the novel Ulysses is set.
The first translation into Bulgarian of Ulysses is expected to be launched by Fama Publications on 5 May.
The exhibition will provide an opportunity to further acquaint Bulgarian audiences with one of the most remarkable writers in the English language of the last century according to Austin Gormley, Chargй d'Affaires of the Embassy of Ireland in Sofia.
