National peaceful demonstration against poverty and unemployment, organized by the two Bulgarian syndicates "Podkrepa" and the "Confederation of the Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria" took place on November 1. More than 10,000 people participated in the protest. Representatives of the syndicates “Podkrepa” and the “Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria” gave a protest declaration to the Social Minister Lidia Shuleva. The demands of the syndicates are transparent privatization, liberalization of the price of labor and increase of the revenues. Minister Shuleva said in connection with the trade union-organized rally: Perhaps I should join those who are protesting against unemployment and poverty. I am against those phenomena. Minister Shuleva added that all the efforts of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the government are aimed at overcoming those problems. Employees of the Bulgarian National Railways demanded the resignation of the General Director of the Bulgarian National Railways Dimitur Dunchev. They threw `stotinki` at him. Transport Minister Petrov met the protesting employees and promised that he will do everything that is possible so that at least one of the unpaid salaries of the employees is paid by the end of the year.
