The Albanian Constitutional Court rejected on Wednesday [31 October] the request of former Bulgarian Ambassador Stefan Naumov for abrogation of decree of president of the Republic, who long ago lifted Albanian citizenship to Mr Naumov. The Constitutional Court college issued such a decision for lack of jurisdiction reasoning that "Constitutional Court cannot solve the matter unless its judgement has terminated in the other levels of judiciary", spokeswoman of Constitutional Court announced on Wednesday to ATA. Concretely, Stefan Naumov addressed the same request to district court of Tirana while the case is also being tried in the Supreme Court which has not commented this request yet, spokeswoman of Constitutional Court explains. Former Bulgarian Ambassador Stefan Naumov was required to leave Albania shortly after lifting the Albanian citizenship by president of the Republic. Following this request he addressed the court. The Naumov family came to Albania at start of 1991. Even after the completion of diplomatic mission it continued to live in Albania. In year 1994 this family was granted the right of Albanian citizenship. Stefan Naumov has served as ambassador of Bulgaria in Albania until the beginning of year 1997.
